CERAMICS VASES. HANDMADE POTTERY

The Ceramics Studio

brand identity / moodboard / brand strategy / print / website design

in Auckland, New Zealand, is a welcoming space where creativity thrives. The studio offers pottery classes designed to nurture artistic talent and help craft exquisite masterpieces. With a commitment to teaching and developing new talent, the studio fosters a sense of community, integrity, and teamwork.

I developed a brand new identity for The Ceramics Studio, reflecting these values through a complete branding and web design project, including the logo suite, advertising, print materials, and website design.

To create the identity of the Ceramics Studio, I started with some drawings of different vase shapes. I first thought of flowers in the vase to represent the birth of new ideas and the blossoming of art into talent.

I liked the idea of having three differents vase shapes to represent the infinity of possibilities.

RE-BRANDING

The logos for the ceramics studio capture the wonderful quirks of handmade pieces and the natural beauty of ceramic forms. The submark logo even features three charming pottery vases, each with its own special character.

The shapes are made by hand to enhance the natural imperfections of the material. I wanted to give the logo a more qualitative aspect. That is why I did it:

  • I chose a dynamic yet thin typeface that reflects the imperfection aspects of the ceramics thanks to some curved letters and lines.

  • I worked with a simple neutral palette of beige, dark beige and black.

  • The three vases are more detailed than in the previous branding: it looks more artisanal.

The overall look gives the studio a handcrafted feel.

The moodboard draws inspiration from the intricate textures and charming imperfections found in handmade ceramics. By skillfully incorporating images that capture both light and shadow, I infused a sense of morning freshness and the lively spirit of spring.

By keeping the same moodboard, I managed to give the studio a new and fresh look.

Incorporating flyers aids in boosting the visibility of the ceramics studio.

The Ceramics Studio website is a hub where curious minds can gather info, explore prices, and join a vibrant community of fellow creators.

the design of the website is neutral, clean and minimalist.
